Frequently asked questions about re-mortgages.
Q: What do we do if we want to proceed with the quote?
A: You can instruct us simply by sending us an email including your telephone number or by telephoning our office and we can take the relevant details. The relevant paperwork for you to complete will then be emailed to you or posted to you - whichever is more convenient.Q: Do we have to make an appointment to instruct you?
A: No. As mentioned above, you can instruct us in person if you prefer.Q: Do we have to pay any fees up front?
A: We request an initial payment of £250 to cover the initial fees and any payments that we need to make on your behalf. The balance of our charges and other payments as quoted will be payable at the time of completion.Q: How long will it take?
A: This normally depends on the time taken for the new mortgage lender to issue the mortgage offer. This can take up to three or four weeks. Once issued, we can normally complete the transaction within seven to ten days.Q: Why is a local authority search necessary?
A: This is a requirement of the new mortgage lender as part of their property security requirements for their loan. -
